About We the Homeowner

A national platform dedicated to protecting, educating, and empowering homeowners and homebuyers through policy research, legislation tracking, and advocacy. We began by examining HOA governance issues and have grown into a broader homeownership rights and policy resource.

Organization Overview

Rooted in real experience. Driven by real reform.

We the Homeowner, Inc. is a national platform dedicated to improving transparency, accountability, and policy around homeownership in the United States. We connect legislation, case law, homeowner experiences, and advocacy tools to help people understand and navigate the legal and policy environment around owning property.

The organization began by examining HOA and condominium governance issues and has expanded to address the broader landscape of homeownership policy, including property rights, housing policy, foreclosure and lien law, insurance and disaster issues, taxation, and consumer protections for homebuyers. HOA and condo governance remain a core issue area within that broader mission.

"Every homeowner deserves to understand the systems that affect their home and their rights within them."
Caroline Simmons, Executive Director and CEO

Incorporated December 23, 2025, we are a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Decatur, Georgia, with Georgia as our pilot state for full platform coverage.

What Makes Us Different

Built different. By design.

Legislation, Case Law, and Experiences Connected

We bring together all three data streams in one place, turning isolated homeowner experiences into documented policy patterns.

Broader Than HOA Governance

While HOA and condo issues are a core focus, the platform covers the full landscape of homeownership policy: property rights, insurance, foreclosure, taxation, and consumer protections.

Serves Homeowners and Homebuyers

We address the needs of people who already own property and people preparing to buy, covering the legal, financial, and governance structures that shape homeownership.

Built to Scale Nationally

Georgia-first depth provides a proven model that expands to every other state through verified research, legislative monitoring, and community contributions.
